The Client & Their Context
Vocean is a Microsoft-listed platform that lets organisations gather ideas, run structured innovation activities and surface insights from them. Its users include municipalities, enterprises and universities running collaborative sessions where many participants contribute at once and the output has to be organised into something decision-makers can act on.
The Problem
Structured group collaboration is deceptively hard to build. Many participants act simultaneously in the same session, each activity type has its own rules about what can be contributed and when, and the resulting data has to stay coherent enough to analyse afterwards. All of it multi-tenant, so one organisation's sessions and contributions are never visible to another.
What We Built
- Built the MVP and took it through to production, the platform Vocean launched on.
- The .NET backend APIs powering the collaboration engine.
- Session, activity and participant handling for structured innovation formats.
- The multi-tenant data model isolating each organisation's sessions and contributions.
- Ongoing maintenance of the backend as the platform grew.
Vocean's platform now includes AI-driven analysis features. Those came later and were built by Vocean's own in-house team after we delivered the platform. Our scope was the MVP, the .NET backend, and the collaboration engine the AI layer runs on top of.
Outcome & Scale
- Taken from MVP to a production platform now listed on the Microsoft commercial marketplace.
